A message from your Evidence Based Birth® Instructor

The Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class is an engaging, interactive four-week course. We'll meet online (through Zoom), so join us from anywhere! This curriculum is comprehensive and will prepare you for birth at a hospital, home, or birth center. With a focus on self-advocacy and evidence-based care, you will be prepared to navigate the inevitable unexpected in your birth experience. You'll also prepare for caring for yourself and your newborn during the postpartum period.

Topics we'll explore:

• The anatomy and physiology of the process of birth
• ​Labor comfort measures
• The evidence on pregnancy and birth topics
• Interventions offered during birth
• Your rights as a birthgiver
• Respectful self-advocacy that humanizes everyone in the birth space
• Newborn care, lactation, and postpartum care
• And more!

What makes the Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class unique?
Like most childbirth classes, you will learn about what to expect during labor and birth, and some techniques for being as comfortable as possible throughout the experience. But the EBB class is unique in its focus on evidence-based care and self-advocacy. Have you heard about the evidence-practice gap? It can take 15-20 years from the time that new research is published to when it becomes standard practice in healthcare. In this class, you'll learn how to can skip the evidence-practice gap and advocate for evidence-based care during your birth, now.

Why do I even need to take a childbirth class?
So much information is available for free on the internet. Isn't a childbirth class a waste of time? Unfortunately, web pages don't come with truth tests. The Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class is the most up-to-date, reliable childbirth class out there, so you know you're getting accurate, relevant information for your birth. When you take a childbirth class, you'll also have an experienced, knowledgeable instructor just an email away! 

What if finances are a concern?
Grants are available if finances are tight. You deserve top-notch birth preparation. Apply here.
